Experimental Study About Taohongsiwutang Improve The Sperm Quality Of Varicocele Rats

Objective:To investigate the effect of taohongsiwutang on the sperm quality ofvaricocele rats.Methods:Adult male Wistar rats(n=50) were divided randomly into threegroups.Treatment group(n=20) was made into varicocele model by partial ligation of leftrenalvein,then everyone of treatment group was fed by taohongsiwutang2ml/d(crudedrugpurity1.0g/ml);the normal saline control group was made into varicocele model as well astreatment group,but everyone in that was fed by normal saline2ml/d;the normal controlgroup(n=10) was not made into varicocele model.A month later,above all the rats waskilled,then detected the quantity of a-class sperm and the motilityrate of sperm(thepercentage of a and b class sperm).Result:Compared to that in normal control group,the quantity of a-class sperm andthe motilityrate of sperm was reduced obviously in normal saline controlgroup(p<0.01).Compared to that in normal saline control group,the quantity of a-classsperm and the motilityrate of sperm was elevated obviously in treatment group,andapproached to that in normal control.Conclusions:Taohongsiwutang can improve the sperm quality of varicocele rats.
