Prognosis factors of vaginal cancerOBJECTIVE:To evaluate the prognosis factors of vaginal cancer.METHODS:We collect the data of60Patients who were hospitalized in the Department of gynecology oncology of Guangxi Tumor Hospital from Jan.1985to Dec.2012.Analyzing the prognosis factors of vaginal cancer, such as age, menopause,FIGO stage, hysterectomize, the type of pathology, tumor size, extent of vaginal cancer tumor involvement, nation, treatment method, survival analyses were performed using the Kaplan-Meier method. The Log-rank test was used for univariate analyses and the Cox proportional hazards regression model was used for multivariate analyses.RESULTS:In univariate analysis the prognostic factors were the FIGO stage, the type of pathology, extent of vaginal cancer tumor involvement.Multivariate analysis showed that FIGO stage and the type of pathology were the most important prognostic factor.CONCLUSIONS:FIGO stage, the type of pathology are the pro-gnostic factor of vaginal cancer.Primary vaginal carcinoma patients who with wide infiltration had poor prognosis. Radiotherapy versus surgery for vaginal cancer:a Meta-analysisOBJECTIVE:To assess the efficiency of radiotherapy versus surgery in patients with vaginal cancer, and to analyze factors influencing the efficiency.METHODS:A systematic review of radiotherapy versus surgery was performed by searching data bases including SinoMed,CNKI,Pubmed.Literature references were checked at the same time,no language restriction when searching.Trials were collected and evaluated according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria.RESULTS:In the four literature,the5-year survival rates of the patients who treated with surgery alone, radiotherapy alone and radiotherapy followed by surgery were no difference statistically.CONCLUSIONS:Different treatment methods don’t improve the5-year survival rates.Specific treatment of vaginal cancer patients with surgery, radiotherapy or radiotherapy followed by surgery need comprehensive general, clinical stage, histological type, tumor site and other factors, on the premise of safety and minimize the complications of treatment.
