Objective: To use system analysis for the identification and quality control ofMarsdenia tenacissimaļ¼and ensure the safety of Marsdenia tenacissima. Then to laythe foundation to guide the preparation, reasonable application of Marsdeniatenacissima better in clinic.Methods: Tweenty-nine samples of Marsdenia tenacissima were collected fromoriginal areas. Pharmacognostical identification, including morphologicalidentification and DNA molecular identification, the determination of main effectivecomponents and HPLC fingerprints for different polar solvent extracts were used tomake a distinction between real and illegal herbs.Results: The character identification results showed that the true herbal medicinewere No.4,5,6,7,8,14,16,18,19,22,23,24,27,29and14, the rest were proved tobe counterfeit. Some of them were identified as heiguteng, heifengteng andzuanshanfeng. DNA molecular identification results showed that8samples, No.4,5,6,8,14,22,23,24, were genuine, the rests were fake, and3counterfeits were relatedor similar with genuine. The HPLC fingerprinting showed the same results with DNAmolecular identification.Conclusion: All the results indicated that the true herbs have high content oftotal steroidal saponins. Some fake samples, related or similar with genuine, containfew amount of tenacissosides A. There are a lot of adulteration of Marsdeniatenacissima and misuses. Then, DNA molecular bar code identification and HPLCidentification results are accurate and available.Union of methods can accuratelyidentification and characterization of Marsdenia tenacissima. |
