An Etiological Analysis Of310Neurological Outpatients With Dizziness

Objective:To analyze the causes of neurological outpatients with dizziness, inorder to improve the diagnostic accuracy of outpatients with dizziness.Methods:There were310outpatients with dizziness admitted in theretrospective study in the first hospital of Jilin university during July2014andMarch2015, statistical analysis on the general clinical data was performed andcauses of the outpatients with dizziness were analyzed.Results:310patients (38.06%males and61.94%females; mean age:50.75yrs)were included in the research; Dizziness course within7days accounting for40.45%of the total sample,the duration of dizziness within1minute accounted for34.19%; Dizzy for the first time accounted for20.32%, dizziness frequencyvariable accounted for50.65%; The change of head or position lead to dizziness ormake the symptoms worse accounted for50%, dizziness with mood and/or sleepdisorder (25.16%); Dizziness accompany with rotating symptoms (39.03%), withnausea and/or vomiting (63.87%); Patients with high blood pressure(25.80%),combine with long-term hypotension (16.77%); The compliance rate of vestibularfunction examination was55.75%, positive rate of85.71%; Peripheral vertigo(40.97%), central dizziness (20.97%), automatic dysfunction26.77%; Peripheralvertigo accounted for40.68%in male,and41.15%in female; Automaticdysfunction account for26.77%of the patients with dizziness,41.18%of16to29year-old patients with dizziness,30to59year-old patients with dizziness mostly because of peripheral vertigo; Patients over60years old with dizziness mainly dueto central vertigo.Conclusion: The causes of neurological outpatients with dizziness areperipheral vertigo, automatic dysfunction, central dizziness, reason unknowndizziness and dizziness caused by internal medical disease respectively.Womenaccounts for more than half of all patients,40~59year-old patients are high-riskgroup of dizziness; BPPV accounts for the vast majority of peripheral vertigo,confirmed BPPV gimmick reset after treatment supplemented by vestibularrehabilitation exercise can obtain a better curative effect;16~29year-old patientswith dizziness accounts for the majority of automatic dysfunction,30~59year-oldpatients, peripheral vertigo accounts for about half of the same age, dizziness ofpatients over60-year-old mainly due to central nervous system diseases.
