Objective:Compared with the open surgery biopsy(OSB), to investigate the accuracy of the coreneedle biopsy(CNB),the influencing factors of accuracy and whether CNB will influence thesurvival of the patients. Methods:We retrospectively analyzed clinical pathologic data of1106female patients with breastcancer who had already underwent surgery in the First Hospital of Jilin University. Wedivided the patients into preoperative CNB group (n=553) and OSB group (n=553). Wecompared the pathological information between these two groups. Disease free survival (DFS)and overall survival (OS) were also compared. The statistical data were all analyzed by SPSSsoftware. The statistical results with p <0.05were statistically significant. Chi-square test wasapplied to the analysis of difference between the count data (Fisher’s exact test if necessary).COX proportional hazards model was applied to the possible single factor and multiplefactors analysis with the95%confidence interval. Results:CNB diagnostic coincidence rate was97.6%, the Pathological detection rate was89.7%.The pathological detection rate was significantly lower when the mass with calcification, biopsy pathology of intraductal carcinoma, intraductal carcinoma with tiny infiltration, andatypical hyperplasia. Compared with the OSB group, CNB did not improve the risk of localrecurrence (P=0.363). The type of biopsy (CNB vs. OSB) did not influence the DFS (P=0.087,95%CI:0.919~3.448) and OS (P=0.453,95%CI:0.627~2.848) of the patients. The intervalbetween biopsy and surgical excision did not influence the DFS (P=0.054,95%CI:0.353~1.008) and OS (P=0.223,95%CI:0.397~1.240) of the patients either. Conclusion:CNB is an accurate and safe method for the diagnosis of breast cancer. It is worthpromoting in clinical practice. |
