An Audit Of The Results Of Core Needle Biopsy Of BI-RADS Ultrasound Subcategories 4 Detected Breast Cancer

Objective:The aim of the present study was to determine the role of the core needle biopsy of BI-RADS ultrasound subcategories 4 subcategories in detected breast malignancy and to find the cause of missed diagnosis.Methods:A cross-sectional study on 254 cases of BI-RADS Ultrasound Subcategories 4 Detected at the breast surgery of Nanjing Medical University Changzhou Peoples Hospital 2 from January 2013 through December 2017 aiming at determining core needle biopsy accuracy compared core needle biopsy findings with surgical biopsy.According to the pathological type,it was divided into three groups:benign,high-risk and malignant.Fibrocystic adenopathy/fibrous adenoma and chronic inflammation are benign,epithelial dysplasia,intraductal papilloma is a high-risk group,ductal carcinoma in situ,intraductal papillary carcinoma,invasive ductal carcinoma,invasive lobular carcinoma,Tubulocarcinoma and mucinous carcinoma are malignant groups.Results:According to the core needle biopsy results of the 254 patients,we can find the false negative rate of core needle biopsy were 4 9.60%,4A 33.33%,4B 10.71%,4C 5.88%.The sensibilities of core needle biopsy were 4 90.40%,4A 66.67%,4B 89.29%,4C 94.12%.The accuracies of core needle biopsy were 4 92.52%,4A 85.19%,4B 92.11%,4C 94.69%.19 patients were false negative results,7 were intraductal carcinoma,4 were intraductal papillary carcinoma and 8 were invasive ductal carcinoma.Conclusion:The sensibility of core needle biopsy was slightly low in patients with breast masses under the BI-RADS ultrasound subcategories 4A category.The core needle biopsy was early diagnostic method for breast masses under the BI-RADS Ultrasound Subcategories 4Band 4C categories.By our analyzing the cause of false negative rate,surgical biopsy is recommended for patients with intraductal papillary neoplasms diagnosed through ultrasonography or the diameter of the tumor<1cm.
