The Clinical Research On Treating Functional Constipation In Children With The Syndrome Of Intestine Lubricating Laxative Decoction (Tiaochang Tong Bian Tang)

Objective:To observe and evaluate the efficacy of the syndrome of intestine lubricating laxative decoction(Runchang tongbian tang) treating functional constipation in children, by checking on the main symptoms, total scores of the symptoms before and after the experiment, and compare the two groups (Treated group and Control group) in terms of its curative effect and safety.Methods:The research was done in Jiangsu Provincial hospital in 2013 January to 2015 January, with a total of 60 cases of functional constipation (Children). The cases were grouped in two 2 groups. Treated group 30 cases and control group 30 cases. The Treated group was subjected to Professor Han Xinmin’s syndrome of intestine lubricating laxative decoction (Runchang tongbian tang) wich its herbs were (Muxiang, Binglan, Zhishi, Juemingzi, Shengyiyiren, Donglouzi, Laifuzi, Xingren, Lianqiao, Houmaren, Dangui)and the control group was subjected to syndrome of Wangshibaochi pill. The treatment was for 7days per dose, running for two consecutive doses, by checking on the main symptoms, total scores of the symptoms before and after the experiment, and compare the two groups, as well checking on the efficacy of the two groups, more so to rate the syndrome of intestine lubricating laxative decoction (Runchang tongbian tang) during the experiment, focusing on its side effects, its curative effect and its safety.Results:Analysis were completed using SPSS 17.0 with the system of Mann-Whitney on the capacity of P<0.05 and showed different symptoms results in the two groups of the experiment. The curative rate of the treated group was 63.4% and that of control group was 33.4%, the total efficiency of the treated group was 90.0% and that of control group was 76.7%, the treated group’s main symptoms scores were (3.80±1.54) rate, lower than of the control group which was (6.33±2.07)and the total score of the symptoms for the treated group was(4.90±1.81) yet the control group was(8.20±3.11).Conclusion:The results showed that the syndrome of intestine lubrication laxative decoction and the syndrome of Wangshibaochi pill both have effects, but the syndrome of intestine lubrication laxative decoction has much curative effect and safe compared with the other of the syndrome of Wangshibaochi pill, also that during the experiment, no side effects were accounted, which states that syndrome of intestine lubrication laxative decoction is effectiv reliable and safe.
