Evaluation Of Curative Effects Of Video-assisted Thoracoscope In Treatment For Spontaneous Pneumothorax

ObjectiveMinimally invasive surgery is the direction of surgery development nowadays,which has the advantages of fewer traumas, less pain and faster recovery. Since the birth of the its unique advantages to win the majority of medical personnel.This research through the comparative analysis of subaxillary small incision thoracotomy(SMT) and Video-assisted thoracic surgery(VATS) in the treatment of primary spontaneous pneumothorax patients perioperative and follow-up situation recently, further explore the value of VATS in the treatment of spontaneous pneumothorax.Whether can completely replace the SMT treatment for primary spontaneous pneumothorax.Materials and methodsClinical date of patients with spontaneous pneumothorax surgery were studied retrospectively from September 2012 to September 2014 at The Second Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University. With 69 cases completed subaxillary small incision surgery(SMT group).At the same time,110 cases completed by Video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS group). We compared and analyzed the perioperative situation of the two groups’patients.Data with normal distribution were recorder as mean±standard deviation.The difference between the groups was compared using independent t-test.Ratio data were expressed as a percentage and difference between two groups were compared using X2 test.P<0.05 was considered to be statistically significant.All the statistical data were analyzed using software of SPSS 17.0.ResultsTwo groups of patients with intraoperative anesthesia were satisfactory,surgical progress smoothly,all cases were cured out of the hospital.1.Preoperative data:the gender, age and the location of SP were not statistically different(P>0.05).So we considered that the sample could represent the overall characteristics.2.Data in the process of operation:Compared with VATS group,operative time,blood loss of SMT group have obvious differences,there are statistically significant(P< 0.05).3.Postoperative data:the postoperative drainage amount,postoperative pain and hospital stay have statistically significant(P<0.05)between the SMT group and VATS group.Meanwhile the incision length and cost of surgery have statistically significant(P<0.01)between the SMT group and VATS group.But in the postoperative extubation time and the postoperative complications have no statistically significant(P >0.05)between the SMT group and VATS group.4. The postoperative follow-up of 6 months with no recurrence of pneumothorax.ConclusionTwo methods of treatment for spontaneous pneumothorax were safe and effective,SMT treatment for spontaneous pneumothorax is simple and need not special equipment.The treatment effects of SMT are big surgical trauma,more intraoperative bleeding and long hospitalization time,but they can reduce the thoracoscope cost of the operation.SMT treatment effect is similar to video-assisted thoracoscope surgery. The treatment effect of the video-assisted thoracoscope surgery is small trauma, faster recovery and fewer complications,etc.Conform to the trend of the development of minimally invasive surgery,VATS will become the first choice for treatment of spontaneous pneumothorax.
