Armadillidiam vulgare belonging to the family of Armadillidiidae, has multiple functions such as bpromoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, diuresis, detoxication and analgesia. Paederia scandens(Lour.) Merri., a climbing plant, belonging to the family Rubiaceae, had significant effects of anti-nociceptive and anti-inflammatory activities. This thesis is focused on the study of the chemical constituents of the above mentioned two medicines and contains 3 chapters. The first chapter mainly reviewed the chemical constituents and pharmacological activities of Armadillidiam Vulgare and Paederia scandens(Lour.)Merri. Armadillidiam Vulgare main contains reducing sugar and glycogen, chondroitin sulfate A and C, hyaluronic acid, various lipid cholesterols and might contain formic acid. The extracts of Armadillidium Vulgare could deduce cancer pain and had anti-inflammatory effects in clinic and its lasting effect even is better than DIantin. The chemical constituents of Paederia scandens were mainly flavonoids, iridoid glycosides, volatile oils, phenoloid and alkaloids. It was used for curing the pains and gastrointestinal diseases in clinic practice. The second and third chapter discusses the research on chemical constituents of Armadillidiam Vulgare and Paederia scandens(Lour.) Merri, respectively. The compounds were isolated and purified with MCI gel CHP 20 P, Sephadex LH-20(MeOH), RP-18 column chromatography, HPLC, Preparative TLC, UPLC and HPLC. Their structures were elucidated by extensive spectroscopic analyses(1D and 2D NMR, MS, UV, IR). Twenty-two compounds were obtained from the alkaloid extract of Armadillidium vulgare, compound Porcellioine A(1) is a new alkaloid. The known compounds were identified as Sibyllimyclne(2), Theophylline(3), Cotinine(4), 4(1H)-Quinolone(5), 8-Hydroxyquinolin-4(1H)-one(6), N, N′-pentane-1,5-diyldiacetamide(7), N-Acetyltyramine(8), Gamma-carboline(9), 3-Methyl-pyrido[4,3-b]indole(10), 4- Methyl-5-thiazoleethanol(11), dipyrrolopiperazine-2,5-dione(12), Hypoxanthine(13), Adenine(14), Adenosine(15), Uracil(16), 2-Oxohexamethylenimine(18), 3-Formylindole( 19), 3-Indolecarboxylic acid( 20), Diethyl phthalate( 21), o-hydroxylbenzoic acid(22), respectively. Meanwhile, sixteen compounds were obtained from the butanol extract of Paederia scandens. Among these compounds, compounds 1 and Paederosidic acid n-butyl ester(5) are new iridoid glycoside. The other known compounds were identified as Paederoside(2), Paederosidic acid(3), Paederosidic acid methyl ester(4),(+)-dehydrodiconifer yl alcohol-4-O-β-Dglucopyranoside(6), Yinxiancaoside C(7), Cleomiscosin A-4’-O-β-Dglucopyranoside(8),(+)-pinoresinol-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(9), Emodin-8-glucoside(10), 2-hydroxy-3-hydroxymethyl-9,10-anthraquinone(11), 2-hydroxy-3-methyl-9,10-anthraquinone(12), p-hydroxyl-benzoicacid(13), Barbaloin A(14), 8-dihydroxy-3-methoxy naphthalene-1-O-β-D(L)-glucoside(15), β-sitosterol(16).Armadillidium Vulgare has become a significant analgesic research area in recent years. Howere, the research on the alkaloid extract of Armadillidium vulgare is rarely. 20 nitrogenous compounds were firstly obtained from Armadillidium vulgare, revealing a new insight into the chemical profile of this species. As the Chinese herb, Paederia scandens(Lour.) Merri. is researched by scholars, but 2 new new iridoid glycoside were obtained from the n-Butanol soluble extract, which expanded the horizons of iridoid glycoside provided experimental bases for the further exploitation and utilization of Paederia scandens medicinal materials resource.
