Armadillidiam Vulgare is the whole dried body of Latreille of Armadillidiidae, and it is also called porcellio,Porcellio scaber Latreille and pillbug. It distributes widely and can be found in Hebei, Shandong, Jiangsu and Zhejiang province. The contents of reducing sugar and glycogen in Armadillidiam Vulgare vary with the growth period. Its polysaccharides contain chondritin A or C or hyaluronic acid. The lipide which Armadillidiam Vulgare contains has 10% non-saponifiable matter, 5% non-aceton solvable liquid, Fatty acids after saponification are 0.7% myristic acid, 20.6% hexadecanoic acid, 8.3% octadecanoic acid, 0.7% arachidic acid, 53.7% octadecenoic acid, 10.1% octadecadienoic acid, 2.5% jeceric acid, 3.2% other unsaturated fatty acid, and unsaponifiable matters contain 41.0% sterin and mainly is cholesterin, and maybe have formic acid. Documents recorded that Armadillidiam Vulgare has the pharmaco-factions, such as breaking blood, diuresis, detoxication and analgesia. It is reported in China that using Armadillidiam Vulgare alleviating pain of liver cancer advanced stage and its effect lasts longer than Sauteralgyl. For utilizing thoroughly traditional Chinese drug resources of our country, and finding the active components, we preliminary studied about separation and purification and pharmacological action of alcohol abstracts insolated from Armadillidium Vulgare. The results reveal pharmacological foundation of Armadillidium Vulgare, and provide rational theoretical and experimental bases for the further exploitation and utilization of Armadillidium Vulgare medicinal materials resource. The main contents are summarized as follows:The preliminary experiments were made on purification by using the dried bodies of Armadillidium Vulgare as experiment materials, pulverizating and sieving them with 20-screen cribble. Alcohol abstraction technology was optimizated by orthogonal design, and the best technology was that 5g Armadillidium Vulgare power with 20 times volume 95% alcohol recirculating extracted for 45 min. The authenticate test indicated that the technology was stabile, feasible and its reproducibility was fine. The toxicity of alcohol abstracts insolated from Armadillidium Vulgare was so low that the LD50 (mice,ig) couldn't be determined. The maximum tolerated dose of the alcohol abstracts of Armadillidium Vulgare for Kunming species mouse was 100g crude drug/kg. The experiments demonstrated that the toxicity of the alcohol abstracts of Armadillidium Vulgare was so low that administrated by mouth was safe.A preliminary investigation was made on the analgesic action of the alcohol abstracts of Armadillidium Vulgare in the present study. The analgesic action of the said abstracts on the pseudoanalgesic response induced by chemical stimulus (mouse writhing test), on pseudo-analgesic response(mouse hot plate test and rat tail-flick test), has also been observed. Experimental results showed that the the alcohol abstracts of Armadillidium Vulgare possessed evident analgesic action. The n-butanol extracts was isolated from the alcohol abstracts of Armadillidium Vulgare by extraction with different solvents by turns, which were petroleum, acetic ether and n-butanol. Component D was attained from AB-8 and Sephadx LH-20 column chromatographic method and possessed analgesic action.A preliminary investigation was also made on the anti-inflammatory action of the alcohol abstracts of Armadillidium Vulgare, the n-butanol extracts, and the component I, II, IV and D. The anti-inflammatory effects of them had been observed using the model for xylene-induced murine ear oedema in mice. The antioxidative activities of the alcohol abstracts of Armadillidium Vulgare were examined in vitro. Results showed that AVA could scavenge hydroxyl free radical and reduce DPPH? generation, but couldn't scavenge oxygen free radical. In recent years, there were some evidences for the clinical curative effect by modern pharmaco-research, but the vertical extent and width weren't enough, and there wasn't theory support for some curative effects that had verified by clinic. The pharmaco-activity investigates of Armadillidium Vulgare in the thesis provide some ideas for the further monomer purification and analgesia mechanism. They display that Armadillidium Vulgare has favourable perspective in the development of new types of analgesic which have powerful effect and no dependence.
