The Present Situation And Influences Of Housebound Older From Urban Communities In Different Regions

Objectives Understanding the present situation and influences of housebound older from urban communities in different regions to provide effective evidence for intervention and prevention of severe.Methods Multistage stratified cluster sampling. The first phase, choosing Anhui and Hebei Province base on the geographical location(south and north); the second stage,compiled on the numbers the 16 cities of Anhui Province and drawn a city of Bengbu as well as Tangshan from the 11 cities of Hebei Province; the third stage, by the above method, extraction ballot a community respectively from the 204 communities of Bengbu,the 159 communities of Baoding, and the 363 communities of Tangshan. In July 2013~December 2013, in succession invest Dajijia community of Baoding, Diaoyutai community of Tangshan and Yan’an community of Bengbu. The 2180 eligible community elderly as the research objects, using an uniform scale survey, including homemade general questionnaire, Activity of Daily Living Scale(ADL), Geriatric Depression Rating Scale Short Form(GDS-15), housebound status assessment scale, social support rating scale(SSRS) and the World Health Organization Quality of Life Short Form table(WHOQOLBrief) investigate subjects face to face in-home interviews to ensure that each meets the requirements of Objects to be investigated. Questionnaires were collected on the spot,collated checks and replenished missing items omissions questionnaire.Results The prevalence of Hebei province community elderly housebound is 15.82%.Univariate analysis showed that living habits, physical condition, mental condition, social condition, environmental condition, social support, quality of life and other factors affect the incidence of housebound elderly from the community in Hebei Province. With age increasing, housebound prevalence increases(P<0.05); the lower the education level,activities of daily living worse would result in housebound prevalence higher(P<0.05);the women’s prevalence of housebound is higher than men’s(P<0.05); elderly with a spouse and high-income would have a lower housebound prevalence(P<0.05).Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that ADL poor, no close friends, a hearing impairment, older age, no exercise, housing area and depression were the main factors affecting the incidence of Hebei province community elderly housebound.The prevalence of Anhui province community elderly housebound is 14.88%.Univariate analysis showed that age, spouse, the income, living habits, physical condition,mental condition, social condition, environmental condition, social support, quality of life and other factors affect the incidence of housebound elderly from the community in Anhui Province. The older, poor ADL would result in the higher housebound prevalence(P<0.05); the elderly with high income, spouse, regular physical activity would have a low prevalence(P<0.05).Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that: ADL poor, no exercise and a small housing area were the main factors affecting the incidence of Anhui province community elderly housebound.Conclusions The prevalence of Hebei province community elderly housebound is15.82%.
