Objective:Brachial plexus block is the most common way for hand Surgery. The aim of this study is to explore the mechanism that whether dexmedetomidine could shorten the onset time of ropivacaine in brachial plexus block, extend the duration of anesthesia, and improve the patient satisfaction of anesthesia. Methods:Selecting 40 patients with ASA Ⅰ-Ⅱ who need taking hand surgery and randomly divided to 2 groups:the people who accepted with ropivacaine as control group (group R) and who accepted ropivacaine and dexmedetomidine as experiment group (group RD). All patients undertook conventional intravenous channel, monitoring ECG, blood pressure, heart rate and oxygen saturation. Muscle brachial plexus block was guided by nerve stimulator,1% ropivacaine 10 ml diluted with 0.9% saline to 20 ml was group R, and the group RD composed of 1% ropivacaine 10 ml and dexmedetomidine lug/kg diluted with 0.9% saline to 20 ml. During the entire operation, blood pressure, heart rate and oxygen saturation would be monitored and recorded by monitoring per 5 minutes,15 minutes,30 minutes and 60 minutes after drug injection. Recording two groups’ sensory and motor nerve block effect and maintain time. The occurrence of adverse events also would be recorded. Results:Compared with group R, the patient’s blood pressure and heart rate was lower, onset time of anesthesia was shorter, duration of anesthesia was longer, and patients were more satisfied with anesthesia in group RD. However, patients existed the phenomenon of sinus bradycardia and need to be injected of atropine in group RD.Conclusion:Brachial plexus block with dexmedetomidine lug/kg and 0.5% ropivacaine 20 ml could shorten the onset time of anesthesia and extend the duration of anesthesia, could have much more advantage for patients.
