| Objective:To evaluate the safety in the surgery between Transurethral Plasma Kinetic enucleation of prostate and Transurethral Plasma Kinetic resection of prostate in treating benign prostatic hyperplasia with meta analysis. Methods:Search databases from their establishment to October 2014 for collecting the randomized controlled trials about PKEP vs PKRP for the treatment of BPH. After the selection using bringing in and ruling out standard, assessment and data extraction conducted by two reviewers independently. Meta analysis were performed by using the STATA 12.0 software.Involved 15 studies including 2992 patients. The results of meta analyses showed that : compared with the PKRP, PKEP had shorter operation time[SMD=-1.19, 95%CI(-1.80,-0.58), P=0.000], less intraoperative bleeding[SMD=-2.34,95%CI(-2.80,-1.88), =0.000], less postoperative complications[OR=0.56, 95%CI(0.36,0.88), P=0.007], and shorter hospital stay[SMD=-1.52, 95%CI(-2.56,-0.47), P=0.000].Conclusions:PKEP had shorter operation time, less intraoperative bleeding, less postoperative complications, and shorter hospital stay. But this analysis is lack of other facts of safety and efficacy. For the poor quality of the original studies, more high quality, large samplestudies are need before clinic promotion. |
