Objective: To study the effect of lateral force on the wedge-shaped teeth defect. Methods: wedge-shaped defect non-working side condyle side guide slope and wedge-shaped defect teeth working side occlusal contact degree is the object. In maxillary molars example. Experiment 1 subjects were face bow transfer, taking the side of occlusal relationships among recording, reproduction experimenter full mouth dentition model, will be transferred occlusal relationships among the experimenter to full adjustable articulators and measured by subjects were condylar guide inclination of the non-working side of the jaw during lateral movement. In the second experiment with a thin articulating paper is placed between the occlusal surface of the teeth of a subject, allowed to do lateral movement, and the contact point of maxillary molar cusp on an inclined plane to be checked. Results: The side condylar guide inclination of the non-working side of the wedge-shaped defects than non wedge-shaped defect side; the side of the wedge-shaped defects in teeth working side occlusal contact area no larger than the wedge-shaped defectConclusion: Non-working side lateral condylar guide inclination and working side occlusal contact area of the common side confirmed the lateral force is an important pathogenic factor in tooth shaped defects.
