Objective To establish the normal data of the fetal cerebellar hemispheres and vermis, analysis its relationship with different gestational age,and evaluate its clinical significance in the diagnosis of the cerebellar vermis abnormalities.Method Totally 383 normal singleton fetuses between18 and 40 gestational weeks were enrolled in this study,two-dimensional ultrasound technology was used to measure cerebellar width(CW),cerebellar height(CH),vermian width(VW) and vermian height(VH) on the transverse section of the cerebellum, the correlation between all measurements and the gestational weeks was analyzed.20 fetuses collected randomly was examined by the same/different operator to analyzed the repeatability/consistency reliability.18 fetuses with mega cisterna magna and 3 fetuses with vermis hypoplasia.were assessed and compared with the normal fetuses. Results ①In all healthy controls, CW,CH,VW,and VH increased with GW.The regression equations were: CW(mm)= 0.1627GW-1.182, R2=0.967;VW(mm)= 0.0189GW+0.1986,R2=0.707;CH(mm)= 0.0712GW-0.3043, R2=0.925;VH(mm)=0.0528GW-0.2014,R2=0.923;P<0.05. VW/CWdecreased with GW increasing(R2=0.6536). VH/CH had no relationship with gestational age.(R2=0.0071). ②The repeatability/consistency reliability of the datas obtained by the same /two different operator were good.③VH/CH in normal fetuses were 0.76±0.04,the reference range were 0.68-0.92; VH/CH of fetuses with CM were 0.74±0.03,the reference range were 0.69-0.81;There was no significant difference between fetuses with CM and normal fetuses(Z=-1.33,P>0.1); VH/CH of fetuses with hypoplasia were 0.60±0.03,the reference range were 0.58-0.63,and were smaller than healthy controls(Z=-2.99,P<0.05).Conclusion To evaluate fetal cerebellar vermis development by two-dimensional ultrasound is a kind of simple, fast and effective method. VH/CH can be one of a reference indicators can used for prenatal diagnosis of cerebellar vermis hypoplasia, and be of great clinical value.objective to establish the normal data of the fetal brainstem-vermis angle(BVA) and brainstem-tentorium(BTA) angle, and evaluate its clinical significance in the diagnosis of mega cisterna magna. Methods Totally 320 normal fetuses between18 and 40 gestational weeks were enrolled in this study. Three-dimensional ultrasound volume contrast imaging(VCI) technology was used to measure the BVA and BTA, then the correlation between the BVA、BTA and the gestational weeks was analyzed. 20 fetuses collected randomly was examined by the same /two different operator to analyzed the repeatability/consistency reliability.24 fetuses with mega cisterna magna were assessed and compared with the normal fetuses. Results ① The BVA and BTA had no relationship with gestational age(r1=-0.05、r2=0.04,P>0.1), the normal reference range of BVA and BTA are 2.23°~19.30°、18.53°~48.13°,respectively; ②The repeatability/consistency reliability of the datas obtained by the same /two different operator were good, among which the repeatability/consistency reliability of the BTA by the same operator was the best. ③The BVA and BTA of 24 fetuses with mega cisterna magna were 4.23°~17.42°、20.41°~40.89°, respectively. There was no significant difference in the BV A and BTA between fetuses with mega cisterna magna and normal fetuses(t1=-0.55、t2=0.92、P>0.1).Conclusion Measuring the BVA and BTA by VCI technology is feasible, and is of great value in the early diagnosis and differential diagnosis of mega cisterna magna.
