Objective This research mainly investigate the expression of HIF-1 alpha, AMPK, E-cadherin in prostatic carcinoma. we mainly discuss the correlation between the expression of HIF-1 alpha, AMPK or E-cadherin and prostate Gleason scores, serum PSA or p TNM. Further more, this research investigate the relationship between the energy supply state of prostate cancer cells and its malignant degree. Methods 34 samples were examined for AMPK, HIF-1α by immunohistochemistry. 11 prostate cancer tissue samples were examined for E-cadherin by immunohistochemistry, measured blood vessels distance. Results The positive of AMPK, HIF-1 alpha for prostatic carcinoma was 32.35%, 64.71%. HIF-1 alpha expressed more in high age group than low age group, which had statistically significant. The difference of the expression of AMPK, HIF-1 alpha between high PSA group and low PSA group was not statistically significant. However, AMPK expressed more in low age group, which was not statistically significant. The difference of the expression of AMPK and HIF-1 alpha between low Gleason group and high group was statistically significant. The expression of HIF-1 alpha in p TNM staging high-risk and low-risk groups were 84.21%, 40.00% respectively, which the difference was statistically significant. The expression of AMPK in p TNM groups was no statistical difference. HIF- 1 alpha expression in prostate cancer was negatively correlated with the expression of AMPK, which result was statistically significant. The positive of E-cadherin for prostatic carcinoma was 36.36%. The difference of the expression of E-cadherin between low Gleason group and high group was statistically significant. The expression of E-cadherin expressed a positive correlation with the distance to vessel, which the difference was statistically significant. Conclusions The expression of HIF-1 alpha in prostate cancer tissue is closely related to Gleason score, age of patients and p TNM, as the expression of AMPK is closely related to Gleason score. AMPK is negatively correlated with HIF-1 alpha in prostate cancer tissues. This study shows that the expression of E-cadherin in prostate cancer tissue is related to Gleason scores. And it shows a positive correlation between E-cadherin and the distance to vessel.
