| Objective: 1) To investigate the relationship between the diameter and the function of aldosterone-producing adenoma2) To investigate the diameter of aldosterone-producing adenoma and its clinical characteristics.Methods:1))There were 66 cases collected retrospectively about confirmed aldosterone-producing adenoma and 66 cases about non-functional adrenal tumor in Fujian Provincial Hospital from January, 2012 to September, 2014. The two kinds of cases were divided into two groups, the functional group and non-functional group. The aldosteronoma patients were in the functional group, and the cases of nonfunctioning adrenal tumor were in the other group to analyze their diameters, aldosterone and potassium.2) Totally218 patients with aldosterone-producing adenoma treated from Jan., 2009 to Dec., 2014 in Fujian Provincial Hospital were included. The patients were divided into two groups to compare the difference of their clinical data according to the tumor size of 1.6 cm diameters as a cutoff point, group A(size≦1.6 cm)and group B(size >1.6cm)Result 一:(1) No significant differences were found in diameter between the two groups. P = 0.057, the blood pressure, aldosterone, serum potassium of the two groups were significantly different..二:(1)The average diameter of the 218 cases was 1.6(0.6)cm.(2)There was no difference in the course of disease, aldosterone, serum potassium and so on of the two groups(P>0.05). There was no difference between the cardiac structure(P>0.05).(3)There were correlation between the diameter and the potassium. The spearman correlation coefficient was 0.135, P=0.047.(4) Renal dysfunction and metabolic syndrome of the two groups were no significant difference(P> 0.05)(5)The two groups were divided into two groups according to age and potassium level, respectively. The result showed that the aldosterone levels of each group was different, which meant it was statistically significant.( P<0.009)(6)There exists a correlation between aldosterone and potassium, left ventricular thickness, blood pressure, creatinine clearance as well as triglycerides. the Spearman correlation coefficient were-0.319(P=0.000),0.349(P=0.000),0.254(P=0.000),-0.164(P=0.019),0.177(P=0.011), respectively.Conclusion:1.Aldosteronoma diameter and its function were not statistically significant. 2, Aldosteronoma diameter was negatively correlated with serum potassium level, and we should pay much attention to the serum potassium level of patients with larger tumors 3, Aldosterone and potassium levels, blood pressure, left ventricular thickness et.alwere statistically significant... |
