Objective:TO understand the ICU nurses’life quality and mental health In Department of three grade general hospital from LinYi, investigate the relationship between life quality and mental health of ICU nurses, and improve the quality of life and mental health of ICU nurses.Method:186 ICU nurses from the three grade general hospital in LinYi was conducted by questionnaire investigation from 2014 May to August. Survey tools contained self-designed questionnaire to learn the nurses’basic information, symptom checklist (SCL-90) to study The nurses’mental health, WHO quality of life scale (WHOQOL BREF) to study The nurses’quality of life. Symptom checklist (SCL-90) contained nine factors:somatization, force, interpersonal relationship, depression, anxiety, hostility, terror, paranoia, and psychosis, including 90 items and each items was 1-5 score, the higher the score, the worse mental health. WHO quality of life scale (WHOQOL BREF) contained four areas, namely physiological area, psychological area, social area, and environmental area, including 28 questions and each question was 1-5 score, the higher the score, the higher the quality of life. The investigator handed out and collected the dates, checking the dates by two and ensured the quality of the questionnaire, SPSS 17 statistical software was applied for Statistical analysis, Statistical methods included analysis of descriptive statistics for the nurses’basic information,standard deviation (x±S) for Quality of life and mental health,t-test for Different gender, age, title, educational background, and night shift frequency,Spearman correlation method for The correlation of quality of life and mental health.Results:1. The Investigated ICU nurses were young and middle-aged, under 40 nurses were 97.79%; Degree college or below were 19.34%,69.61%, master’s and above 11.05%.2. ICU nurses’quality of life score was 52.78±12.78, the factors affecting ICU nurses’ quality of life were gender, technical titles, and night shift.3. ICU nurses’SCL-90 total score was 152±45.78, the average score was 1.55±0.78.the factors affecting ICU nurses’ mental health were technical titles, night shift frequency, different degree.4. ICU nurses were of poor quality of life and mental health, the scores of life quality and mental health were positively correlated.Conclusion:1. ICU nurses’ quality of life was low, and the quality of life of male nurses was lower than female nurses, and quality of life of Senior title of professional was lower than Junior titles, life quality of day shift nurses were better than life quality of night-shift nurses.2. The ICU nurses’ mental health was poor, the mental health of high qualification nurses was lower than Low qualification nurses, mental health of night-shift nurses was lower than day shift nurses.3. the scores of ICU nurses’ quality of life and mental health were positively correlated.
