Objective:To study the expression of Hypoxia inducible factor-la (HIF-1α), vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) and P53 in extrahepatic bile duct carcinoma and analyzed the relationship the expression with clinic opathological features. Investigate their function in oncogenesis and development of cholangiocarcinoma.Method:We immunohistochemically analyzed the expression of HIF-1α, VEGF and P53, using whole tissue section in 33 cases of extrahepatic bile duct carcinoma who underwent surgery, and determination by postoperative pathological diagnosis between November 2009 and November 2012 at the Affliated Hospital of Yanbian University. Select 33 adjacent noncancerous tissue as the control group to study the expression and interrelation of HIF-1α, VEGF and P53 in extrahepatic bile duct carcinoma and adjacent noncancerous tissue. Investigating the correlation between the expression of HIF-la, VEGF and P53 clinicopathologic parameter in bile duct carcinoma, and evaluate the potential prognostic value.Result:The expression rate of HIF-1 a, VEGF and P53 were 21caes(63.6%), 18cases(54.5%),24cases(72.7%) in extrahepatic bile duct carcinoma respectively, and there were lcases(14.3%),0 cases(0%), 1cases(14.3%)in adjacent noncancerous tissue. There are statistical differences between two group(P<0.05). There were no statistical differences between their expression with patient gender, age, the degree of differentiation, level of blood bilirubin before operation(P>0.05), but metastasis of tumor(P<0.05).Conclusion:HIF-1α, VEGF and P53 perform a high-expression in extrahepatic bile duct carcinoma. Their expressions are positively related with grade malignancy in extrahepatic bile duct carcinoma.
