BackgroundChronic prostatitis is a frequently-occurring disease for male, accounts for about 30% outpatients in urinary surgery. As the symptoms of chronic prostatitis are very complicated and diverse, the recurrence rate is high and the course is prolonged, it can not only bring the somatic pain, but also bring the mental pressure to the patients, resulting in the obvious reduction of the patients’life quality. Clinical study showed that different degrees of depression, anxiety, somatization and other mental symptoms were accompanied in many chronic prostatitis patients. And depression was particularly prominent in these symptoms. There are a lot of studies on chronic prostatitis at home and abroad. However, most of them are from the perspective of somatic symptoms, and there are few studies on the relationship between prostatitis and psycho-mental factors. With the development of medical science, the medical model has been converted from the traditional biomedical model to "biological-psychological-social" mode. It is a consensus that the psycho-mental factor has become an important factor. The relationship between psychological factors and disease has attracted people’s attention increasingly. Thus, chronic prostatitis is a psychosomatic disease, and its complete rehabilitation is severely affected by the patient’s state of mind. So the opinion is very one-sided that chronic prostatitis is a somatic disease. The combined psychological problems attract more and more attention by clinicians. Therefore, the psychological factor should be attracted more attention as one important related factor of chronic prostatitis.ObjectiveThe purpose is to treat chronic prostatitis patients with depression by combining the traditional Chinese medicine decoction with sertraline, so as to study the suitable plan for it.Methods1 The patients were derived from the outpatients of integrated traditional Chinese medicine in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinxiang Medical College, outpatients in the Second Affiliated Hospital and outpatients in urinary surgery of Second People’s Hospital of Xinxiang from September 2014 to June 2015. They underwent the prostatitis screening and psychological assessment.90 chronic prostatitis patients with emotional disorder were selected. The ages were 20~50 years old.2 The 90 chronic prostatitis patients with depression,20~50 years old, were selected as the object of study by chronic prostatitis symptom rating scale (NIH-CPSI) and Hamilton depression rating scale (HAMD). They were randomly divided into 3 groups, with 30 cases in each group. The patients in the treatment group 1 took orally the antidepressant sertraline,50mg every morning; the patients in the treatment group 2 orally took traditional Chinese medicine decoction, qd; the patients in the treatment group 3 took orally traditional Chinese medicine decoction qd in combination with sertraline 50mg every morning. The treatment cycle was 6 weeks. They were evaluated by NIH-CPSI and Hamilton depression rating scale before treatment, and at the end of the 2nd,4th and 6th week in the therapeutic period. The immediate effect was evaluated. The NIH-CPSI and HAMD scores in the therapeutic period were analyzed and compared.3 All the data were analyzed by SPSS 17.0 software. The measurement data were expressed with x±s. The data information was processed and analyzed by repeatedly measuring the variance. The comprehensive comparison was tested in different time points using LSD-T. P<0.05 indicated that the difference was statistically significant.Results1 After treatment, as for the rehabilitation degree of psychological state, the curative effect in treatment group 3 was superior to that of treatment group 1 and 2;2 After treatment, as for the rehabilitation degree of prostatitis, the curative effects of patients in group 1 and group 2 were poorer than that of patients in group 3;Conclusion1 The relationship between chronic prostatitis and psycho-mental factors is close.2 The symptoms of chronic prostatitis can be improved by the traditional Chinese medicine decoction.3 Combining traditional Chinese medicine decoction with antidepressant drug sertraline can ease the symptoms of chronic prostatitis, at the same time it can improve the emotion of the patients effectively so as to achieve a better therapeutic effect.
