Purpose:To investigate the recent effect and prognostic analysis for simultaneous integrated boost conformal Rapid Arc radiotherapy in non-small cell lung cancer patients with brain metastases and provide the choice of clinical treatment. Methods:The clinical data of 46 NSCLC patients with brain metastases who received simultaneous integrated boost conformal Rapid Arc radiotherapy from February 2013 to June 2015 in the first hospital of Jilin university were retrospectively ana1 yzed. The overall survival was estimated by Kaplan-Meier analysis. The univariate analysis of the survival-related risk factors was performed by Log-rank test. The potential prognostic factors related to survival were evaluated by the Cox regression analysis. Results:All cases completed the treatment according to the design of experiment. The median time to cranial disease progression and the median survival time were 5 months and 8.6 months for all patients. The 6-month progression-freesurvival rate was 41.30%(19/46), 6-month, 8-month and 12-month overall survival rate were 76.09%(35/46), 56.52%(26/46) and 32.61%(15/46),respectively. Multivariate analysis showed that KPS score, diameter of largest metastasis, target therapy after radiotherapy were independent predictive facters related to survival. No severe adverse events and toxicity except grade I-II hematological toxicity and gastrointestinal reaction were observed. The patients had good tolerance. Conclusion:The simultaneous integrated boost conformal Rapid Arc radiotherapy in non-small cell lung cancer patients with brain metastases could provide good controlfor Intracranial metastatic lesions, prolong survival time and improve the quality of live of the patients with slight adverse reactions, is safe and effective treatment.
