Investigation And Analysis Of Nursing Soft Skills On Surgical Nurses

Objective:The aim of the present study was to investigate nursing soft skills on surgical nurses and discuss factors affecting its soft skills.Therefore,the present study may propose specific recommendations and measures and provide theoretical support for hospital administrators to enhance nursing soft skills on surgical nurses. Methods:245 surgical nurses from a tertiary hospital of Changchun participated the survey that took convenience sampling method form January to December in 2015.General information questionnaire and The nursing soft skills evaluation scale which developed by Fu Yan-fen etc.were used for evaluation. Using epidata3.1 to establish a database, SPSS18.0 software was used for data analysis. Results:1.The total average score of nursing soft skills on surgical nurses was(155.82±13.40), the overall level was general level. Cognitive skills was somewhat less, the score was(22.16±3.35).2. Single factor analysis results showed that different age, forms of employment, education, working years, level, administrative duties, whether as a instructor and department have significant differences(P<0.05).3. The multiple stepwise regression analysis showed that work experience and department were the main factors of nursing soft skills on surgical nurses. Conclusions:1. Nursing soft skills on surgical nurses was general level, especially cognitive skills need to be strengthened.2. Age, forms of employment, education, working years, level, administrative duties, whether as a instructor and department were the factors influencing nursing soft skills on surgical nurses.3. The main influencing factors of nursing soft skills on surgical nurses were working years and department. Nursing soft skills increased with working years. Nurses who scored the high were in Cardio-thoracic Surgery department.
