Stroke Aphasia Eye Eye Interactive Systems Design

For stroke, the most common symptom is the motor aphasia associated with ipsilateral hemiplegia. The next one is sensory aphasia. If those two co-exist, it is called mixed aphasia. For sensory aphasia, patients can express but they answer the irrelevant things, what’s more, they don’t understand others. But for motor aphasia, patients lost a certain ability of talk, but they can understand others’meaning. Stroke patients with aphasia cannot communicate with the medical workers and the cure is mainly on doctor’s experiences. Nursing is mainly on speculating the time to find patients’ subjective needs, such as, basic problems-going to the restroom. Therefore, key point of this paper is how to establish the communication between the motor aphasia people and the medical workers.At the beginning, this article did an investigation on the crowd of apoplectic aphasia and found that there were some problems in the current care and treatment for stroke patients with aphasia. For example, patients were lacking of communication with medical staff in a long period would make them not able to express subjective emotion and led to the psychological status, depression and loss of confidence. Then, after disease onset, patients went to the doctors and the doctors would more likely to take some observation of relatives of the patients as the main judgments but not take the direct communication as the firsthand information, which greatly reduced the doctors’diagnosis and the late recovery state. Around the above problems, this paper designed a eye interactive communication device for the stroke aphasia crowd. This device is mainly based on eye tracking technology. Because the patients lost their ability of talk after the stroke and they were unable to use body language to communicate. So making the device sound by using interactive model of eye gaze and sight input information. To solve communication disorders for patients according to the expression of the communication object, reduce the psychological burden, making patients be more confident to restore health, which also facilitate the burden of nursing care and improve the doctors’success rate of onset condition and treatment.
