[Objective] To analyze the affection of time of using video display terminal(VDT) and sleeping on lacrimal function of dry eye disease(DED).[Methods] We included 230 cases of clinical diagnosis of DED outpatients(a total of 460 eyes) from August 2014 to November 2014 in our hospital. The association between Binoculus Schirmer I test (SIT),tear break-up time test(BUT)and average daily using time of different VDT (computer, mobile phone and TV), average daily sleep time were analyzed respectively by the single factor analysis of variance (ANOVA), SNK-q test and multivariate logistic regression analysis.[Results] Among 230 subjects which with VDT related DED(79.6%),group VDT2 (4 h<t≤8 h) and VDT3 (t>8 h) had less lacrimal secretion than group VDT1 (0<t5<4 h) and NVDT (P<0.05).There is no significant difference between BUT of observation groups and control group. Logistic regression model results:SIT were bound up with the average daily time of using computer and age(P<0.05), in addition, the average daily sleep time and age relevance on BUT were significant(P< 0.05).[Conclusion]Excessive use of VDT could result in tear secretion reducing, and the longer using time (t>4 h),the more significant effect was.lt also appears that lacrimal film stability will markedly damaged with less sleep time.
