Clinical Study Of Treating Lumbar Disc Herniation In The Elderly By Continuous Epidural Catheter

Objective: To observe different doses of methylprednisolone epidural infusion elderly lumbar disc herniationdifferences in clinical.Methods :Sixty cases of elderly patients,confirmed by CT and clinical examination with lumbar disc herniation were treated in hospital in January 2014-July 2015,randomized into A、B、 C group, 20 cases / groups,take epidural catheter, and then connect a capacity of 100 ml microcomputerelectric injection pump DDB-I-A analgesia treatment.three groups of drugs are analgesic pump liquid 84 ml 5mg/d, 10mg/d, 15mg/d dose of methylprednisolone and NS injection composition provided analgesia pump flow rate 0.5ml/h,after1 week of treatment,observe back pain, leg pain, leg raising, VAS score changes,Macnab score changes,interlukin-6 in serumchangesand blood sugar changes.Results:End of treatment,three groups VAS scores were 4.74±1.38, 2.68±1.43, 2.42±1.43, there was significant difference(P<0.05) than before treatment; B, C groups were excellent rate of 85% and 95%, significantly better than the A group of excellent rate of 55%, but there was no significant difference in B, C groups(P>0.05); three groups of blood sugar during treatment were no serious complications, C groups fluctuations in blood glucose levels during treatment large change, there are no significant difference compared with that before treatment and the end of treatment in A and B groups(P>0.05).A、B、C three groups in serum interleukin-6 in the first day of treatment, and day after the end of treatment compared to before treatment were significantly lower, there are significantdifferences(P>0.05). Conclusions:10mg/d methylprednisolone may be effective in treating disc herniation in the elderly,better able to alleviate the symptoms and treatment of blood sugar fluctuation.
