ObjectivesThe research uses the resting state functional magnetic resonance imaging(rs-fMRI) to calculat the functional connectivity functional connectivity (FC) charecteristic in two kinds of TCM syndrom of vascular dementia(VD), including phlegm and blood stasis syndrom and kidney essence deficit syndrom. At the same time, Alzheimer’s disease (AD) of kidney essence deficit syndrom group will do as a control group to be accounted the variance of FC compared with the same syndrom of VD.MethodsAll the Subjects were selected from inpatient and outpatient department of neurological department of Internal Medicine. After the strict screening of the clinical and imaging requirements, there are 66 cases at all including 23 cases of Phlegm and blood stasis syndrom and 17 cases of kidney essence deficiency in VD,13 cases in AD kidney essence deficiency syndrome and 13 cases of health group. First of all, we do the statistical analysis of the basic information like gender, age in the four groups to ensure the baseline in alike. Secondly,we reckoned all of the Image Data. Based on the previous studies of anatomical, we choosed bilateral PCC to be the ROI. The average sequence of all the selected ROI sequences was obtained, and then do the relevant with all of the brain sequences.To be convenient for the after analysis, all the fMRI dates must be do some steps of pretreatment, for example, smoothing, filtering and so on. In order to make the image data is normalized, after the pretreatment, the image is converted to Fisher, and the data of Z value is obtained. After the t test and alphasim correction, we obtain the FC network of the different syndroms but the same disease and different diseases but the same syndrome. Using the image processing software is normalized conversion data are calculated and analyzed. According to the image science data packet respectively within the group average static network features were obtained in each group, and then to give groups pairwise comparison to obtain the functional connectivity of the differences between the two groups. Afterfinally obtained the brain networks activated diagram and the corresponding anatomical voxel information, deliberate and comparison, certificates with the results of different syndromes in the same disease and different diseases by the image processer.Result1、The result in different syndroms but the same disease:Compared with VD in kidney essence deficiency group, the VD in Phlegm and blood stasis syndrom’FC is enhanced in left superior occipital gyrus and left middle oppcipital gyrus, but connected with a weakening trend in right cerebelum gyrus, left Cerebellar peduncle gyrus, the right lingual gyrus, right middle occipital gyrus, right inferior occipital gyrus, right fusiform gyrus, bilateral paracentral lobule, bilateral precuneus, right back and right inferior parietal lobule (the angular gyrus is not included).2、 The result in different diseases but the same syndrome: ①ompared with AD in kidney essence deficiency group, the VD group’s FC with PCC ROI is enhanced in left inferior and middle temporal gyrus and left hippocampus, but reduce in left Superior temporal gyrus, left transverse temporal gyrus, left rolandic oper and corpus callosum. ②In addition, compared to the normal group, the three groups of AD and VD have their characteristics. For example, AD group of brain functional activation maps showing diffuse, symmetry reduction or enhancement, and the anatomical area is small; and VD group and normal group compared, brain function activation map showed the asymmetric changes and its anatomical region is more large.ConclusionThe same disease(VD) but differet syndromes’s disparation may be on account of the TCM mechanism of syndromes that the syndrome of phlegm and stasis of blood will be havier to hurt the subcortical white matter because of the more serious vascular injuries. The same TCM syndrome in differet diseases have various FC result may due to differet brain injury areas from VD to AD.
