Background:In modern medicine, coronary heart disease is considered to be the result of coronary atherosclerotic plaque, which leads to vascular stenosis or obstruction, which can lead to myocardial ischemia and hypoxia. And coronary plaque is the focus of the current study. Traditional Chinese medicine thinks coronary plaque formation is mainly caused by long-term Phlegm and Blood Stasis accumulation in heart meridian. According to TCM syndrome differentiation, the current coronary heart disease can be divided into phlegm syndrome, blood stasis, phlegm and blood stasis syndrome and non phlegm stasis syndrome.Objectives:By means of virtual histology intravascular ultrasound (VH-IVUS) technique, the correlation between coronary plaque and coronary plaque of phlegm syndrome, blood stasis syndrome, phlegm and blood stasis syndrome and non phlegm stasis syndrome will be analyzed, and the correlation between coronary plaque and "phlegm" and "blood stasis" will be discussed.Methods:Forty patients were enrolled for determinations of Coronary Heart Disease and VH-IVUS. They were averagely divided into four groups:ten patients in Phlegm、Blood stasis、Phlegm and Blood Stasis and The non Phlegm Blood Stasis syndrome.In analysis of VH-IVUS images, four groups of syndrome type compare between the necrotic core (NC), dense calcium (DC), fibre (FI) and fibro-fatty (FF).In laboratory indicators, the four groups of syndrome type compare between blood lipids (TC, TG, LDL-C, HDL-C) and C reactive protein (CRP). Result:Phlegm syndrome, blood stasis, phlegm and blood stasis syndrome and non phlegm stasis syndrome between the two two groups showed that TC, TG, LDL-C, HDL-C and CRP in traditional Chinese medicine on the difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05)Significant differences were observed in rate of FF between Phlegm Blood stasis and Phlegm and Blood Stasis syndrome (p<0.05). There was no statistical difference between phlegm and blood stasis syndrome (P>0.05). FF in Phlegm and Blood stasis syndrome was closely more 3 times than Phlegm and Blood stasis syndrome. There were no Significant differences in TCU TG、 LDL-C、 HDL-C and CRP (P>0.05)Conclusion:"Phlegm" or "blood stasis" can increase coronary plaque lipid composition (FF) content, but the two in the body increasing the amount of the FF is significantly higher than that of "phlegm" or "blood stasis" single factor effect on the body. According to TCM syndrome differentiation, it is beneficial to the discovery of high risk groups, timely treatment and prognosis.
