ObjectivesAccording to the Chinese Medicine physical constitution science as a guide, Patient’s Chinese Medicine constitution with Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease (GERD),the research of TCM syndrome distribution and mental state, the investigation of patient’s TCM Constitution with GERD, the connection between the law of syndrome’s distribution and mental state, hoping for the treatment of Chinese Medicine treatment of GERD,preventions, and good caring, provide new ideas and information.MethodsThe collection of data is from July 2015 to February 2016 from the Guang Zhou’s Traditional Chinese Medicine University Hospital’s outpatient, inpatient,Endoscopy room which diagnose GERD from a group of 190 patients as an example group, and collect 100 healthy persons with non GERD as a comparison group. Using "Chinese Medicine constitution and determination list", "Self-rating depression scale" (SDS) and "Self-Rating Anxiety Scale" (SAS)for the research process, also using TCM syndrome classification, recording the data in an EXCEL database, using SPSS19 program for a Statistical AnalysisResults(1) 190 cases of GERD patient are 107 example of male which occupy 56.3%, 83 example of female which occupy 43.7%, the youngest patient has 17 years old, the oldest patient has 74 years old, the average age is 43.98±13.48 years old.(2) Among 190 cases of GERD patient, the distribution of TCM constitution is as follows:Qi deficiency constitution (17.4%)>Qi Stagnated constitution (15.8%)>Phlegm dampness constitution(15.3%)>Yang deficiency constitution (13.7%)>hot and humid constitution (13.2)>Ying deficiency constitution (8.9%)>peace constitution (8.4%)>blood stasis constitution (6.3%)> Special intrinsic constitution (1.1%). GERD patients and healthy person’s constitution distributions have statistics difference (P<0.05)(3) Different gender, different ages of patient with GERD, TCM’s constitution distribution have statistics difference (P<0.05), which male commonly see Qi Deficiency constitution, hot and humid constitution, Phlegm dampness constitution, female commonly see Qi Stagnated constitution, Yang Deficiency constitution, Qi Deficiency constitution, young ages commonly see hot and humid constitution, Phlegm dampness constitution, adult ages can see more Qi Deficiency constitution, Qi stagnated constitution, and elderly ages can see more Yang deficiency constitution、blood stasis constitution.Patients with GERD which have different occupation and level of education have non TCM constitution statistics difference (P>0.05). Patients with GERD which have addicted to alcohol and smoking or not, which addicted to excessive spicy, sweet and salty food or not, TCM’s constitution distribution have Statistics different (P<0.05), Patients with GERD addicted to alcohol and smoking commonly can see Hot and Humid constitution、Ying deficiency constitution. Patients with GERD addicted to excessive spicy, sweet and salty food commonly can see Hot and Humid constitution, Phlegm dampness constitution.(4) TCM’s syndrome distribution is as follow:Liver-Stomach disharmony syndrome (25.8%)>stagnated heat in the Liver and Stomach (22.6%)>The inverse of the Qi Deficiency (22.1%)>stagnation of phlegm-dampness (20%)>Stagnation of blood stasis (9.5%).Different TCM’s constitution of TCM’s syndrome distribution has significant statistics difference (P<0.01)(5) GERD patients with depression tendencies (32.1%), anxiety tendencies (25.3%), and get compare with the comparison group have significant statistics difference (P<0.05). GERD patients have more depression and anxiety tendencies than the comparison group, among them different patient’s TCM constitution with depression and anxiety tendencies have significant statistics difference (P<0.05), in Qi Stagnation constitution patients, they have depression and anxiety tendencies more than non-depression and anxiety tendencies.ConelusionGastro esophageal reflux disease patient’s TCM Constitution types are common seen in:Qi Deficiency, Qi Stagnation, Phlegm-Dampness, Yang Deficiency, and Hot and Humid constitution. Different gender, ages, alcohol and smoking addiction, feeding habits has a direct connection with TCM’s constitution, Liver and Stomach disharmonic syndrome is the most common in GERD patients, different TCM’s constitution and different TCM’s syndrome exists a certain connection in between, GRED patient has more depression and anxiety tendencies than healthy people, different TCM Constitution and the incidence of depression and anxiety tendencies have some connection, for the treatment of Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease patients in addition of differential treatment, also can include a suitable diet against the different constitutions, get rid of bad feeding habits, psychological caring, and different kind of integrate caring, to Improve the efficacy of Chinese medicine treatment of Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease.
