From the year 2003 to 2009, went through the unexpected SARS and the preventing and controlling of H1N1, nowadays we can prevent and control the spread of disease early and effectively. The CDC has grown so fast and developed rapidly, it is the result of the national financial and policy support. It also strengthened the construction disease prevention system and professional training. The team of disease prevention and control continued to gain strength. Research showed that age of personnel from CDC in our country has got younger and the level of their academic has proved. New personnel have become the new blood of CDC and strengthen this team. The ability of disease prevention has been strengthened. New personnel was not only represent the future, but also charged with the great mission which is to keep people health and protect them from disease. Therefore, the importance of recruiting great talents and systematical training showed prominently. Each year, provincial CDC has obtained many training projects and has made good effect. The information of training for new personnel was absent and lack of planning. The training system should be established canonically. This research was base on training situation of new personnel in provincial CDC, to know the situation and demands of training, to make plans for it and to provide reference for strengthen education.ObjectiveIncluding1. To know and analyze the training status and demands of new personnel from provincial CDC.2.To give suggestions for making scientific and normative training program for new personnel from provincial CDC in the future.MethodsThe respondents were chosen from 9 different provincial CDC. Those 9 CDC were selected from 31 provinces in whole country according to east, middle and west area and each area including 3 provinces. The person in charge of education training from 9 provincial CDC organized new personnel to make report online by using CCDC epidemiological dynamic data collection platform. Then exported the raw data from data platform, processed and analyzed the data by Microsoft Excel 2010. Analyzing methods included descriptive analysis, chi-square test.ResultsThe number of new personnel from 9 provincial CDC was 438.364 valid questionnaires of 367 collected and the response rate was 83.1%.1. General informationIn this research,135 of them were male (37.1%).229 of them were female (62.9%). The average age of them was 27.8. Most of them had Master degree (230 and the rate was 63.2%). Most of them studied public hygiene and preventive medicine as their major (195 and the rate was 53.6%).57 studied other medical specialties as their major and the rate was 15.7%.112 didn’t studied medical specialties as their major and the rate was 30.8%.2. Current situationIn this research, the number of people who had taken training was 331 and the rate was 90.9%. 33 hadn’t taken training and the rate was 9.1%. The number of people who hadn’t taken training because of being unaware of training information was 9 and the rate was 23.0%. The main training approach was to hold courses,297 had taken part in and the rate was 89.7%. Most of people thought that experimental operation was the best way for training, the number of them was 248 and the rate were 74.9%.3. Influencing factorsThe factors of education background, length of employment and whether having doctor seniority certificate for public hygiene highly affected the respondents. The higher level of the education background they got, the more demands of the training they had. The number of people whose length of employment were whitin 1 year took part in training was less. The number of people who had doctor seniority certificate for public hygiene was more.4. General demandsThrough this research, the general demands for training of new personnel was relatively high (the rate was 99.5%), Number of the people who strongly needed training was 214. There were only 2 people who didn’t need training. The main reason to take part in training was the demand for working position. Secondly, for personal development and broaden their horizon. Most people thought that the training should be 1 to 4 times of training each year. Training should last 4 to 5 days. The most appropriate way to have training was taking courses. Secondly, was further education, having lectured, holding study tour, etc. Most people wanted to have further education in CDC, Secondly, in colleges and universities, research institutions, etc.5. Demands for training contentsTraining demands included 3 parts which were generic skills, relevant skills and specialized skills. First training demands for generic skills were the design of research project. Secondly, were thesis Writing, data management, English, bibliographic search and utilizing, etc. First training demands for relevant skills were hygiene regulation and health policy. Secondly, were public relations, dealing with media, health promotion and education, laboratory safety, etc. The most wanted training demands for specialized skills from 26 tasks were communicable disease control and management.
