Purpose:Perihilar This study reviewed the outcomes of all simultaneous pancreas-kidney (SPK) transplantations carried out in our center.Methods:From 1994 to 2015,8 cases of SPK were carried out by one medical team in our center. Herein, we summarized and revealed detailed information of both donors and recipients, including basic characteristics and results of medical tests centering operations.Results:5 patients were diagnosed as type II diabetes mellitus, and the operations were carried out in the method of systematic-bladder drainage.3 patients were diagnosed as type I diabetes mellitus, which were performed with portal-enteric drainage.2 recipients received relaparotomy in virtue of abdominal sepsis or bleeding.1 pancreas was resected due to bleeding.1 kidney arised acute rejection (AR) postoperatively.1 patients passed away owing to kidney failure. Survival time of recipients was 16 months (1-216 months).Conclusion:The outcomes of SPKs performed in our center is comparatively satisfied. In this process, we have innovatively established a comprehensive system of surgical techniques, immunosuppression therapy, multi-disciplinary management. This program needs to be further tested by long-term results of more cases.
