Objective:In this study, we investigated the potential anti-inflammatory effects of GSPB2 in Interleukin-1β induced rat chondrocytes and its corresponding molecular mechanisms. Methods:Achieved articular chondrocytes from 2-week-old rats, and built osteoarthritis cell model with interleukin-1 (IL-1β). Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction and Western blotting were used to assessthe effect of GSPB2 on the expression of matrix metalloproteinase-1,-3,-13 and β-catenin in osteoarthritis cell model. And the Procyanidin B2’s effect on Licl-activated Wnt/β-catenin Signaling Pathway was assessed with the same method.Results:GSPB2 inhibited the overexpression of Matrix metalloproteinase-1,-3,-13 and β-catenin that induced by IL-1β in cultured chondrocytes. GSPB2 also inhibited the activation of Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway induced by Licl.Conclusion:GSPB2 had been proved to have anti-osteoarthritic properties and inhibiting the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway may be one of the potential mechanisms.
