Objectives:To assess the expression and clinical correlation of TNIP1 with SLE, with the method of meta analyses. Methods:Search the key words form PuMed, Web of Science, EMbase, Wanfang Database. The key words included "TNIP1", "TNFAIP3 interacting protein 1"," systemic lupus erythematosus"," SLE", "polymorphism". In the case of PubMed, the content of search was that:(TNFAIP3 interacting protein 1 OR TNIP1) AND (systemic lupus erythematosus OR SLE) OR (polymorphism) The relevant data were required from 2015-2-5. Two reviewers evaluated the quality of searched literature according to quality evaluation standards(Newcastle-Ottawa Scale), extracted data independently in accordance with inclusion and exclusion criteria, and settled differences and problems through negotiation. Analyzed data by meta analyses with the RevMan5.2 software provided by Cochrane Collaboration. Results:The analysis included 12 articles, consisting of 10 case-control studies related to the TNIP1 gene rs7708392 polymorphisms and 6 case-control studies related to the TNIP1 gene rs10036748 polymorphisms. Our meta-analysis revealed that the frequency of the C allele of TNIP1 rs7708392 in the case group was higher than that in the control group (OR=1.23,95% CI:1.12-1.34, P<0.001) and the frequency of T allele of TNIP1 rs 10036748 in the case group was higher than that in the control group (OR=1.29,95% CI:1.24-1.34, P<0.001). In the subgroup analysis by ethnicity, the results indicated that in TNIP1 rs7708392, the OR of the C:T ratio was 1.29 (95% CI:1.23-1.35) in European populations and 1.14 (95% CI:0.92-1.42) in Asian populations. In TNIP1 rs10036748, the OR of the T:C ratio was 1.25(95% CI:1.18-1.33) in Asian populations. Conclusions:Totally, the TNIP1 rs7708392 C allele and the rs10036748 T allele were significantly associated with genetic susceptibility to SLE.In the subgroup analysis by ethnicity, the European with rs7708392 C allele and rs10036748 T allele were more likely to suffer from SLE. The Asian with rs10036748 T allele had more chance to get systemic lupus erythematosus. And the rs7708392 C alleles had no obvious correlation with the susceptibility of SLE.
