| Objective:Investigating the effect of Jianpi Huayu Decoction (JHD) on cancer-related fatigue after chemotherapy in advanced colorectal cancer patients, by evaluating the score of fatigue, the qulaity of life, physical condition, TCM clinical syndromes before and after treatment, and suggesting that Jianpi Huayu Decoction can improve the immune function of patients, so as to improve the fatigue status of the patients by detecting the effect of the compound on the immune markers in the blood of patients.Methods:A randomized controlled method, 63 advanced colorectal cancer patients (3 cases lost,60 cases completed) without surgical indication in Jiangsu Province Hospital of TCM oncology wards were randomly divided into the treatment group (combined XELOX chemotherapy with Jianpi Huayu Decoction) and the control group (treated with XELOX chemotherapy). After two chemotherapy cycles, two groups were observed before and after treatment with the score of fatigue, the qulaity of life, physical condition, TCM clinical syndromes and immunefunction.Results:Before treatment, there was no significant difference between the treatment group and the control group in the age, gender, tumor location, fatigue scale score, quality of life, KPS score, TCM clinical syndromes and immunefunction (P>0.05). After two cycles of treatment, the total score of cancer-related fatigue and the cognitive emotional fatigue of the control group were excel to that of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Compared with the control group, The cognitive and total score of the scale function in treatment group were better, and there were statistically significant (P<0.05). Compared with the control group, the treatment group KPS score was higher than that before treatment, the difference had statistical significance (P<0.05). The improvement rate of TCM syndrome score in the treatment group was higher compared with the control group, and TCM syndrome points of the treatment group such as fatigue, abdominal distension and loss of appetite were were superior to that of the control group. The abdominal distension, loss of appetitewere revealed a statistically significant difference (P<0.05). Before and after treatment, CD4+ and CD16+/56+ increased and the differences of CD4+ and CD16+/56+ were statistically significant in treatment group (P<0.05). Compared the two groups, the expression of CD4+and CD16+/56+T cells in the treatment group were better that in control group, the difference had obvious discrepancy (P<0.05).Conclusions:Using JHD in the treatment of cancer-related fatigue in patients with advanced colorectal cancer is able to reduce the degree of CRF, improve the quality of life of patients, improve the symptoms of TCM, and enhance immune function to a certain degree. |
