Objective:1.To validate the accuracy of liver stiffness measurent(LSM) by Fibro Touch in the assessment of liver fibrosis in patients with chronic hepatitis B(CHB). 2. To compare the performance of Fibro Touch and Fibro Scan for the diagnosis of liver fibrosis with CHB.Methods: A total of 286 patients with CHB were enrolled for the study between March of 2014 and December of 2015 from 15 hospitals. All the patients were underwent liver biopsy and Fibro Touch test. This study included two parts: 1.We compared the LSM by Fibro Touch with histological staging, and used the Mann-Whitney test to investigate difference of LSM between different fibrosis stage. Then we evaluated Area Under ROC Curve(AUROC) of LSM by Fibro Touch for staging liver fibrosis. 2.We compared AUROC of Fibro Touch and Fibro Scan for staging liver fibrosis. Results:Part 1: The median of LSM by Fibro Touch for S0 to S4 were 6.4, 6.9, 8.2, 13.9 and 16.0k Pa, respectively; with a positive correlation with fibrosis stages(r=0.501, p<0.001). There was no statistical difference of LSM by Fibro Touch between S0 and S1 or between S3 and S4(p=0.455,p=0.425), but there were statistically significant differences between S0~S1and S2 or between S2 and S3~S4(p<0.05). The AUROC for LSM by Fibro Touch for differentiating histological fibrosis stage≥S2 and ≥S3 were 0.759 and 0.798, respectively, with cut-off values for S2 and S3 was 9.5k Pa and 10.8k Pa, respectively.Part 2: The AUROC of Fibro Touch and Fibro Scan results for ≥S2 was 0.767 and0.770, respectively(p>0.05); the AUROC for ≥S3 were 0.773 and 0.760, respectively(p>0.05).Conclusions: Fibro Touch is a reliable noninvasive technique to diagnose significant liver fibrosis and advanced liver fibrosis in patients with CHB, and there was no difference of diagnostic performance for significant liver fibrosis and advanced liver fibrosis between Fibro Touch and Fibro Scan results.
