| Objective To explore the brain diffusion characteristics between healthy and chronic mountain sickness(CMS) patients using diffusion kurtosis imaging(DKI), assessing the changes of the brain microstructure in patients with CMS.Methods 15 CMS cases and 16 healthy volunteers were collected, the volunteers.The equipment was Siemens Skyra 3.0T superconducting MRI scanner,we operated the conventional MRI scanning and DKI sequence. DKI data was processed by the DKE software to calculate the diffusion kurtosis parameters, then used the MRIcron software to select ROIs to measure the gray and white matter area kurtosis value.Compared both sides of each site and between the two groups by using SPSS22.0 statistical software. The significant level is 0.05, two tail.Results The statistical results showed that the AK value of the anterior limb of internal capsule and the MK, RK value of the thalamus and the head of caudate nucleus in CMS group had obvious discrepancy between two sides areas. The MK, AK value of the anterior capsulotomy and the MK, RK value of the thalamus in normal group had significant difference between two sides areas. The RK value of the genu of corpus callosum in CMS group was lower than normal group, the AK value of the splenium of the corpus callosum, the MK value of the left anterior capsulotomy, the RK value of the left posterior limb of internal capsule, the MK value of the right head of caudate nucleus and bilateral lentiform nucleus, the MK,AK value of the right thalamus in CMS group were higher than normal group.Conclusion1This research showed that the cerebral sulcus and fissures became shallow and the cerebral ventricle got deflated in CMS group which were in conformity with the previous relevant research in rountine characteristic features of MRI.2The left and right cerebral hemispheric microstructure was not exactly symmetrical in CMS group and the normal group, some brain areas existing significant differences.3The cerebral microstructures of CMS were changed. Reactivity and sensitivity of the brain tissue to hypoxic condition were different. |
