Objective: In order to compare the life quality of patients with hepatic hemangioma after enucleation and transcatheter arterial embolization to provide reference for treatment of decision analysis. Methods: Patients’ quality of life was assessed with the gastrointestinal quality of life index(GLQI) preoperatively, at 1, 6, 12 and 15 months after the operation.Researchers typed in Epidata database to save about patients’ general information and medical information. The value of GLQI was taken as the index of QOL,and it was expressed in the form ofx±s.The comparison of QOL index was done with Multivariate analysis of variance of repeated measurement design; Each point compared with preoperative with Paired t-test.The statistical process was finished with SPSS20.0 software. Results:According to the basic date,no significant differences was found about general information and medical information of two groups of patients. The average GLQI values of Enucleation group and TAE group were 111.7 and 108.3(t=1.171, P>0.05).Tendency of GLQI scores of Enucleation group was different significantly compared with the TAE group during a period of time(Between group F=5.331, P<0.05). GLQI scores of the Enucleation group increased steadily after surgery. In TAE group, the scores just increased from 1 to 6 mounths, while that declined and was lower than that in Enucleation group significantly from 6 to 15 mounths after surgery. Comparison between Enucleation and TAE groups: the GLQI scores were [(99.5±11.2) vs.(109.0±9.2)] at 1 mounth after surgery(t=3.141, P<0.05). The Enucleation group showed better GLQI scores than did the TAE group at 12, 15 mounths postoperatively [(128.5±8.3) vs.(108.7±10.4),(129.2±8.5) vs.(108.2±9.5)](t=7.122, 7.943,both P<0.05). Intra-group comparison: in Enucleation group, the GLQI at 12, 15 mounths were singnificantly higher than preoperative levels [(128.5±8.3) vs.(111.7±9.3),(129.2±8.5)vs.(111.7±9.3)](t=59.548, 51.158, both P<0.01). In TAE group, the patients GLQI at the 6mounths experienced significant improvements compared with preoperation levels[(114.4±10.8) vs.(108.3±9.8)](t=14.749, P<0.01), but at the 12, 15 months, the scores reduced to preoperative levels [(108.7±10.4) vs.(108.3±9.8),(108.2±9.5) vs.(108.3±9.8)](t=1.277, t=0.641, both P> 0.01).Conclusion:The results showed that patients’ quality of life were improved in the early stage of TAE, but that were unsatisfactory in the long-term postoperatively. Enucleation may be better than TAE in improving patients’ life quality in the long-term postoperatively.
