| Coronary artery calcification(CAC) is common in various types of complex coronary lesions, It significantly increased the difficulty of percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI), is one of the major challenges for interventional cardiologists, in particular, severe coronary artery calcification, immediate complications of surgery and the incidence of major adverse cardiovascular events(MACE)in early and late stages were significantly higher. To further understanding of coronary artery calcification and improvement of interventional technique, especially the development of percutaneous coronary rotational atherectomy(PTCRA),success rate and safety of percutaneous coronary intervention were significantly increased. We reviewed the pathogenesis of coronary artery calcification, the influence factors, the evaluation method of coronary calcification, the relationship between coronary artery calcification and cardiovascular disease, and the treatment of coronary artery calcification. |
