Clinical Characteristics And Prognosis Analysis Of Elderly Breast Cancer Patients

Objective: The incidence of breast cancer in the elderly patients is higher and higher,But there is no guidelines of diagnosis and treatment for those persons, in consideration of the aging of population and the rising incidence of breast cancer.we analyze the clinical biological characteristics and prognostic factors of the elderly persons to search for the best treatment.Methods:Retrospective analysis of 99 cases of breast cancer above 70 years old and 96 cases under the age of 70 from 2008-2010. We analyze the clinical features 、pathological examination and prognosis factors。Results:99 cases of breast cancer in elderly patients, T1 accounted for 38.3%;T2 accounted for 51.5%; T3 accounted for 9.1%.The number of lymph node metastasis for N0 is 65.6%,N2 is 24.2%,N2 is 10.1%. 60 patients with diabetes, hypertension, coronary heart disease and lung diseases, et al.ER,PR-positive rate is high.Her-2 negative rate is high.ER-positive rate is 71.7%, PR-positive rate is 50.5%,Both negative is 24.2%;Her-2 negative rate is72.7%. Her-2 positive rate is 27.2%. Tumor size and lymph node metastasis number are related.Survival rate is influenced by pathological pattern. clinical stages. hormone receptor. Her-2 gene. hormonal therapy and complication. Compared with the young group,T2 and N1 of the old group are more.The rate of ER、PR and complication are higher. The number of invasive and endocrine therapy have no difference. Receiving chemotherapy patients of elderly people is fewer. 5-year survival rate of elderly patients is low。Conclusion:1.The breast lumps in elderly paients are greater. But lymph node metastasis is fewer. We should improve the understanding of the disease and use molybdenum and B ultrasound rationally to diagnosis and treate early.2. Invasive carcinoma are the main types. ER.PR positive rates are high..Her-2 positive rate is low.3. Surgery for elderly patients is relatively safety. breast conservative operation and SNB should be applied for suitable patients. Endocrine therapy is very important. Chemotherapy should be prudent.4.Survival rate is influenced by complication.
