From the crude extract of Haloragis micrantha(Thunb.)R.Brown,a Chinese traditional herb of China,eleven compounds were first isolated by sephadex LH-20,silica gel column chromatography and High-speed counter current chromatography(HSCCC),etc.Seven of them were identitied on the basis of their spectral data and chemical evidences.They were determined as:β-sitosterol(Ⅰ),quercitrin(Ⅱ),quercetin(Ⅲ), catechin(Ⅳ),3,4,5-trihydroxybenzoic acid(Ⅴ),gallocatechin(Ⅵ), 5,6,7,3’,4’-pentahydroxyisoflavone(Ⅹ).Five of the eleven compounds are tannins,and three of them are flavones.Another part of this thesis is mainly reported about preparative isolation and purification of 5,6,7,3’,4’-pentahydroxyisoflavone of the crude extract of Haloragis micrantha(Thunb.)R.Brown by HSCCC.A two-phase system composed of n-hexane:ethylacetate:methanol:water (6:4:6:4,v/v/v/v)was selected by high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC).By using this solvent system,compoundⅩwere successfully isolated from the crude extract of Haloragis micrantha(Thunb.)R.Brown.HSCCC is considered as an effective way for the separation of 5,6,7,3’,4’-pentahydro ylsoflavone due to its unique advantages.
