Study On The Refinement Of Relationship Between Words In Chinese Thesaurus For Ontology

In the advent of the Internet era, there are a large number of distribution-free structureand semi-structured data increasing the difficulties of information retrieval. How to organizethe vast amounts of digital information, and provide users with accurate and efficient networksearch services becoming an important and urgent research topic. So people proposed theontology, which can be described in the semantic and knowledge level of informationsystems, as the solution. The thesaurus has a collection of knowledge which be built by manyexperts, including the complete vocabulary of the various disciplines. Therefore, there is ashortcut to construct the ontology by converting the existing thesauri into the correspondingontology.In the process of conversion from Chinese thesauri to ontology, the relationship betweenthe words in existing thesauri cannot reach the requirement of ontological relations betweenconcepts. So we need to refine the study on the basis of the relationship between thetraditional thesaurus words.Traditional thesauri include ordinary thesauri and proprietary thesaurus,"proprietarythesaurus" or "proper noun" is the proprietary name of a particular expression of separateconcept things. It includes the following: geographical name, country name, the name of thetimes, names, organizations, groups, product type, the proper names of things. At present, theresearch for Chinese thesaurus construction of ontology-oriented relationship between wordsfocused on the relationship between the words of ordinary thesaurus. It ware rarely involvethe relationship between proprietary thesaurus.On the basis of the results of the relationship between the group’s existing ordinarythesaurus words, the relationship between proprietary thesaurus term were analyzed bycomparison, induction and other methods. The relationship between Chinese proprietarythesaurus words can be divided into three levels: synonyms, hierarchical relationships andassociative relationships, which including17refined relationships: the synonyms, whole andpart relationships, generic relationships, instance relationships, determinative relationships,object and origins relationships, people and career or field relationships, organizations andmembers relationships, parallel relationships, crossing relationships, object or action and timerelationships, object or action and spatial relationships, data and contents relationships,discipline or field and object relationships, people and object or action relationships, relatives or friends relationships, and that improve the classification system of relations between thethesauri words (including proprietary thesauri). At the same time, the paper analyzed anddiscussed the homonyms phenomenon, as well as the question of generalizing thesaurus termrelationship or refining it in the course of the study. All of these were designed to provide animportant reference for the standardization work of ontology construction in future.
