As the cultural and economic product of specific historical period, China family ethicsplay features wide dissemination and artistic influence. Since the desire in1990, family ethicsplay,the most domesticated TV drama type, due to its its diversified themes and profoundcultural connotation, has won people’s attention and population in its20-odd years ofdevelopment.Special human relationship in the family is its main object, serving as the "living soul" offamily ethics play. Therefore, family ethics play may fall into two broad classifications inview of different relations involved: the first one concerns the blood tie between "the fatherand son" and the "brothers" based on blood and the adoptive relationship;the other is marriageethics play focusing on the "husband-wife","mother and daughter-in-law".On the basis oftheoretical study on family ethics narrative strategy and culture connotation, this thesis shallhave detailed analysis and interpretation of the themes of family ethics play since the1990s.This thesis is divided into three parts: part1deals with the theme of family bond in the familyethic play through the analysis of intergenerational emotion and siblings affection; Part twoconcentrates on the diversity and complexity of the"marriage"theme, through analysis of therelations of husband and wife and mother and daughter in law of; Part three, from the culturalperspective, explores inheritance and development of traditional culture in the family ethicplay, as well as its humanistic concern against the backdrop of booming popular culture, andfurther points out its practical significance to the construction of socialist harmonious society.This thesis makes an detailed analysis of ethical value, narrative characteristics, aestheticcharacteristics of Chinese family ethics plays since1990s, to explore the theme evolvementand innovation, and further more the cultural connotation and spiritual guidance function ofChinese family ethics plays.
