The Study Of The Lu-fu(Rhyme-prose)in Imperial Examination System Under The Chin Dynasty

The literature history of the Chin dynasty(1115-1234) is unvalued at the whole Chinese literature history. At most of teaching material about Chinese literature history, discussing about Chin’s literature are focus on Yuan Hao-wen and light literature. So a few scholar discussed about lu-fu(Rhyme-prose), and some of the man considered the lu-fu is not belong to literature. However, I think the rhyme-prose which created in imperial examination is also belong to literature, and it effected literary creation. Study the rhyme-prose is necessary.The Jurchen rule setting foot in Central Plains, take the Han officials’advice which establish the imperial examination system to choose official. Until the Chin’s perish, the system continued. So, in Chin dynasty the rhyme-prose was flourishing. However, the absence of literature made the man could not read the Chin’s rhyme-prose, only gain the message from historical materials, notes,and stele scripts. Now the paper based on exsisting rhyme-prose subjects, analysis the subjects which response to the Jurchen rule about of policy, morality, and so on.The Han accommodated to the examination system step by step, and participated in the wave of improving the system. In its early days, the rhyme-prose aspired the T’ang style, which stress the man’s real talent and the composition’s rhyme. Later period of Emperor Chang-tsung, the rhyme-prose’s style was changing,only focus on the rhyme. The one cause of this was that Emperor Chang-tsung’s interests and the claims examiner take the emperor’s fancy. Second, due to the expansion of the Chin examination system, so the claims examiner in order to ensure the fair, that he must take more impartial measures. Finally, some man of insight, led by Chao Ping-wen, promoted the revolution of the examination system.Ku-hsueh was Han literati cognizanting about of intellectual revival. The context for it was complex. Result Chao Ping-wen who promoted the revolution of the system. Though the revolution failed, the man turn to the wider realm which is not the examinations. Open the booming of literature in the last years of Chin.
