David Hume is not only the famous British philosopher, but also a renowned economistand historian. His philosophical thoughts has enriched and developed the idea of Hobbes andLocke, and is also the theoretical origins of modern liberalism, which has a profound impacton the development of modern liberalism.Hume’s theory of justice is a theory of justice which is based on interests, the maincontents of Hume ‘s theory of justice include three rules of justice which the property rightsare the center, that is, the stability of property possession, transferring of property and tofulfilling promises based on consent. Hume believed that reason of justice is due toselfishness of human and limited generosity, as well as the supply of scarce natural to meethuman needs. Because human selfishness could not overcome the weaknesses of humannature, he believes that people do Everything is for their own interests, so people need toestablish the rules of justice and the government to restrict their behavior, to protect propertyrights and maintain social stability.Hume’s conception of justice having important theoretical value and social value.Humethought the theoretical value of justice is mainly reflected in the impact on Western liberalism,and his ideas of social justice values are mainly reflected in building a socialist marketeconomy and building a harmonious society. There are limitations in Hume’s conception ofjustice, fully understanding the concept of justice’s positive role and limitations, and making aconclusion about the beneficial ingredients for building a socialist country in terms of ethicalvalues, and drawing reasonable content to accelerate our building a socialist harmonioussociety pace, has very important theoretical and practical significance At the same time, weshould also see the limitations of Hume’s concept of justice, and fully understand the positiverole and limitations of the concept of justice distinction.
