Wang Zhaoyuan is one of the few female Confucian scholars and ExegesisInterpreters in the end of Qianjia of Qing Dynasty. On the studies of The Book of Songsher contribution is particularly prominent. She began to read The Book of Songs in herearly lifetime and acquired some knowledge. As the wife of the famous Confucian scholarnamed Hao Yixing, a lot of her own opinions of The Book of Songs is selected in herhusband’s works named Questions and Answers on Book of Songs and the Book of SongsTheory. Every opinions of her are added to the prefix “RuiYu said”. It can be said thatQuestions and Answers on Book of Songs and the Book of Songs Theory are acomprehensive achievement of Hao and Wang’s study. To a certain extent, from Therelating content quoted by Commentary on the Biography of Women in Ancient China canalso find her original ideas of Book of Songs.The contents of Wang Zhaoyuan’s study of The Book of Songs can be divided to twoparts. One is the study of the philosophical connotations of The Book of Songs; the other isthe exegetical studies of the words of The Book of Songs. The former is based on The Bookof Songs and literature of the perspective of the study has distinct female characteristics.The latter strives for concision and can be combined with life experiences. Some words’exegetical has reviewed on the mistakes of annotations of previous generations. Based onthe study of Questions and Answers on Book of Songs, the Book of Songs Theory,Commentary on the Biography of Women in Ancient China and other works, this paperbrings out the closely related parts of Wang’s study on The Book of Songs and aims tosummarize its characteristics and achievement. In addition, the paper also discussed theomissions of the recent version of the Wang’s study on The Book of Songs and plused anappendix. Thus the text is divided into five parts.This paper is divided into five parts. The first part is the foreword, which outlines therelating research background, present situation and contemporary trends. The second partis the survey of Wang Zhaoyuan and her primary writings, which contains a brief account of her life and the main circumstances of writings on the research of Book of Songs. Thethird part is the main part of this thesis. It is the concrete collation and studies on Wang’swritings in two ways: traditional gloss and philosophical connotations. It also contains theanalysis of their contents and characteristics. The forth part is the academic values andpositions of Wang’s studies on Book of Songs. It analyzes Wang’s contribution to thestudies of Book of Songs and traditional annotation, combining with review data ofcontemporary and followed scholars. The fifth part is the conclusion. It is a concisesummary of aforementioned contents. Appendix section is a correction of the2010QiLuPress edition Questions and Answers on Book of Songs and the Book of Songs Theory.
