"The doctrine of the mean" as one of the Four Books,have upgrade the status of theConfucian thought in ancient China Since the Song Dynasty. The "mean" study is evenunique in the Ming Dynasty. In the late Ming Dynasty there are almost all schools ofConfucianism development stage, Therefore the "doctrine of the mean" study is the mostrepresentative one in the late Ming Dynasty.In this article I summarized the main content of "the doctrine of the mean" in the lateMing Dynasty and choose the representative figure to analysis by the characteristics of itin the late Ming Dynasty and it’s formation background. The paper is divided into fivechapters:The preface introduces the origin and significance of the topic, the research situation athome and abroad, research ideas, content innovation, and briefly introduced before theMing Dynasty "mean" the development situation.The first chapter introduces the rise of the "doctrine of the mean" in the late Mingdynasty." there is a certain development of it before the Ming Dynasty. It continues toimprove from the Qin period to the Song Dynasty, and the combination of science andthe other religion, an overview of its becoming an independent system. This chapter isdivided into three sections, the first section is the economic root by the economic analysisof the rise of "the doctrine of the mean".The second section discusses the politicalreasons in the late Ming Dynasty ".And the third section introduces the ideologicalfactors in the late Ming Dynasty. It is the background of."the doctrine of the mean"in the late Ming Dynasty.The second chapter lists "the doctrine of the mean" thought of some representatives inthe late Ming Dynasty, I wrote "the doctrine of the mean" studies of the academicsystem and the main content. I select Zhang juzheng, Li Zhi, Lu Shanji following the treecharacters. Representatives in thisperiod are so many, and also has a wealth of background on it. Through these features Istudy the reasons for these characteristics in late Ming Dynasty.The fourth chapter written the "mean" idea in the late Ming Dynasty research andhistorical significance. The first section introduces the "doctrine of the mean" in the MingDynasty has promoted the development of the Ming Dynasty’s political stability andeconomic prosperity."The doctrine of the "mean" and the development ofmind supplement promote each other, enrich the development history of the Mingdynasty. The second section points out the "doctrine of the mean" studies the historicalsignificance and practical significance of the study in the late Ming Dynasty.
