Mass culture has spread in the world in the context of globalization nowadays. Onbehalf of mass culture, films and television programs also spread in the globe with thepower of internet. American TV show, on behalf of globe mass culture, spread inchina for more than30years, from1980s to21stcentury. Watching American TVshow has became a part of life for many young people in china. The theme of thispaper is intercultural communication of American TV show in china. It is composedof four parts. part one is about the brief of American TV show and its history ofspreading in china. Part two will analyze the factor why American TV show spread inchina successfully. The factor is globalization, audience, charm of American TV show,medium, and so on. The content of part three is communication effect of AmericanTV show. The last chapter is we can learn some experience from interculturalcommunication of American TV show, it will help Chinese mass culture spread in theworld specifically for the Chinese TV show, so that it will improve Chinese culturalsoft power.
