| This report is an analysis of the American Pulitzer Prize winner Stacy Schiff’s biographyCleopatra: A Life and its translation process. Case study is the main approach adopted inwriting this report. Translation techniques used here are sorted into three levels, includingliteral translation with a note (or notes), lexical accommodation and syntactic accommodation.Moreover, during the process of proofreading and revising, with modulation of the book title’stranslation, employment of Chinese four-character structure and restruction of sentencestructures included, measures are adopted to improve and polish the translation. Everytechnique and measure is explained with one or more cases. |
