Chi Zijian is a "polar female writer" who comes from the northeast, has alwaysmaintained a consistent literary style and pursuit since she has stepped into the literaryworld. The living environment in "Northeast polar” has a subtle influence on theformation of Chi zijian’s literature and cultural psychology. By generally looking atChi Zijian’s novels, the lines between the words have shown her love of home-land,the landscape of Northeast, the ordinary people and the amazing Ewenki nation,which have been deeply rooted in Chi Zijian’s heart, and have provided thefundamental material for establishment of her literature mansion, as well as to deepenthe cultural connotation within her works. Based on this, this paper attempts to departfrom a cultural perspective, through a comprehensive reading of Chi Zijian’s works,across three major aspects of localized culture, underlying cultural, ethnics andreligious culture, to interpret of its indepth cultural identity, and to analyze the causesof formation of these identities.The introduction part of this paper summarizes the research status upon ChiZijian’s works, and briefly describes the reason, the implications, research methods,and reasoning of choosing the topic.There are three chapters in the main body of thispaper:The first chapter introduces geographical and cultural presentations, whereasChi Zijian writes about her hometown’s unique black soil culture by carrying with herpassion on Northeast earth, from natural scene to humanities and folk customs, whichdepict as a magnificent natural landscape picture. Her grown experience duringchildhood, which serves as the foundation of this landscape picture, becomes animportant reason for the formation of special geography and culture in her literaturecreation.The second chapter describes the underlying culture. We rarely find grandnarrative scenes in Chi Zijian’s novels. Instead, she always bases on the most commondaily life-ground, discovering the human beauty of underlying people andconstructing a living cultural space for her readers with a “Ordinary person” image.Within this living space that is relatively small and is filled with hardships, hercompassion and care for the “underlying people” are seen everywhere. Chapter threetalks about ethnics and religious culture. Ewenki nation is a minority ethnic group who dwells on the northeastern region along the border between Russia and Japanborder. In Chi Zijian’s long novel-"The Right Bank of the Eerguna River", she showsto the readers the old and mysterious culture of a minority ethnic group. The completenarrations of Ewenki ethnic group in this work enable the readers to have a deepunderstanding of the cultural implications of its nation and religion. Meanwhile, ChiZijian expresses her regret about the declined fate of ancient nations through the thiswork, calling people to have profound reflection about the damage to natural ecologyand demise of ancient national culture across the modern civilization process. Theconclusion part have the summary of the profound cultural significance about ChiZijian and her literature works.The local culture, the underlying culture, the ethnic and religious culturecontained in Chi Zijian’s novels are in a sense representing the words from"Disadvantageous Groups". She carries the cultural mission as a writer and is tandingon her literature field with warmth words.
