The Study On Xie Lingyun’s Yuefu Poetry

Xie Lingyun’s poetry plays an important role in the history of Chinese poetry, itcan be said that he creates a new era poem style, especially in landscape poems.Because of that, the researches often focus on his landscape poems in academia, andrarely refer to his Yuefu Poetry. Actually, Yuefu Poetry is also an important categoryin his poetry, and the study on Yuefu can help us fully recognize the nature andfeatures of Xie Lingyun’s poetry. Based on collecting mass relevant research materialsand absorbing previous research achievement, this article discusses Xie Lingyun’sYuefu Poetry in detail.This paper consists of three parts: The introduction describes the current state ofresearches for Xie Lingyun’s poetry, especially in Yuefu Poetry, and points outdeficiencies related to those researches, affirms the value of further analysis of XieLingyun’s Yuefu poetry, and illustrates the basic structure of this paper.The body isdivided into three chapters.The first chapter is “Ideological content of Xie Lingyun’s Yuefu poetry”, this partcombines his Yuefu poetry with the ups and downs in his life experience, and thenanalyzes how the contradictory thoughts which raise from his career influence hiscomposition. It is thought that Xie Lingyun’s creation of Yuefu poetry have connectedwith his mix of emotions that ups and downs sometimes. From the idea contentperspective, it can be classified into four categories: feeling sad, confidant hard to find,hermitage yearning and attention on suffering. And the author will elaborate them oneby one in the following paragraphs, consider that his Yuefu poetry always carries thedepressed and helpless about his political frustration, is filled with sad.The second chapter is “Artistic characteristics of Xie Lingyun’s Yuefu poetry”, itanalyzes many aspects, including image selection, technique of expression，languageuse and structure. It is thought that Xie Lingyun prefers to place on his emotions usingsome small and new images, and used thinner space technique of expression in orderto express theme directly, it formed rudiment of“method of literal production”. Fromthe language use aspects, Xie Lingyun fully played his personal advantages, made hispoetry more beautiful in style, structure and rhyme. In addition, the article compared the landscape poems, which can represented his creative achievement, with the Yuefupoetry, and analyzed the similarities and differences between them, it considered that,as an independent creative areas, Xie Lingyun’s Yuefu poetry had his own uniquestyle.The third chapter is “The position of Xie Lingyun’s Yuefu poetry”, it sketchesthe development of Yuefu poetries by literati before him, and places his Yuefu poetryin the developing history. It makes some comparison between Lu ji and Bao zhaofrom ideology purport, language style, and sentence structure, in order to illuminatethe originality of Xie Lingyun’s Yuefu poetry. It includes that the learning andinnovation of Lu Ji’s creation experience, and considers that Xie Lingyun picks upthe creation experience about the use of special technique, and sentences andrhetorical flourishes，meanwhile, made some breakthrough. It can make sure that XieLingyun and Bao Zhao have many aspects in common through comparative analysis,especially in thinking topic selection, gorgeous language carve，while Bao Zhao’sYuefu poem have some develops and innovation in subject, sentences, and style.The conclusion summarizes the characteristic of Xie Lingyun’s Yuefu poetry,points that the research value of his poem in literary history, and elaborates the viewsof this paper.
