As a rounder prestigious artist of poem and prose, calligraphy, painting in Chinesehistory, Su Shi has a profound impact on later generations. Xuzhou as an importantconnecting link between Hangzhou Mizhou and Huangzhou, which is Su Shi’s literarypeak period, so the research of the Spiritual Implication of Su Shi’s poems and prosesin Xuzhou is important.Spiritual Implication is reflected in the works of the writer’s inherent pursuit. Thisarticle is based in Su Shi’s poems and proses in Xuzhou, the analysis of culturalbackground in Northern Song Dynasty and his unique life experience in Xuzhou. Thespiritual implication of this period can be summarized as the following five focusaspects: enterprising spirit of diligent in politics and caring for the people, affectionand faith in human relations, the practical spirit and the approach to doctrine, theworrying spirit of “Men’s life is boating in the world”, The standpoint of “Somebodycan be implied in the matter, and may not pay attention to it” and natural aestheticspirit.Su Shi affected from the Confucianism thought in his childhood, always wantedto be an aspiring minister to complete his dream that devoted to great kings like” YaoShun Yu” and building a society full of benevolence and fraternity. His enterprisingspirit of diligent in politics and caring for the people appears as his attention to realityand love for all life beings, sharing joys and sorrows with common people. Su Shi wasa bold and easy-going man, full of charm of personality, so he made a wide range offriends. He supported the king with his own doctrine, evaluated politics in his articles;encouraged and responded to his brother Su Zhe with poems or proses; showed hiskind and helpful affection to his friends and relatives in Xuzhou period. He didn’t turnto illusory under reality strikes, but did his best to serve the people as his starting pointand destination with assiduity and down-to-earth manner, and showed pragmatic spiritin politics and practical expression. His political ideas about “Doctrine” were mainlywithin the scope of Confucian. But we can also find in his works that his “Doctrine”was also expressed when beyond the scope of Confucianism. He expanded the contentof “Doctrine” through the integration of Buddhism and Taoism.“Life is likeDuck-weeds” was Su Shi’s important ideological and attitude towards life throughouthis life, and three consecutive first proposed uses is in Xuzhou’s poems.“Men’s life isboating in the world” thinking in Xuzhou has two prominent characteristics: First, profound sense of worrying; Second, contradiction seeks to go beyond the worrying.Su made the aesthetic attitude,“meaning in things and not be able to indulge in things”in the works of his Xuzhou period. This ultra-utilitarian aesthetic spirit expressed thesubject spirit straight from heart. Su’s poetry of Xuzhou directly expressed hisemotions in clearing the male performance style; Su advocated for the text to benatural and meaningful, showing the celestial pursuit in his aesthetic spirit. SuShi’spiritual implication of his poems and proses in Xuzhou achieved the highharmony beauty of art realm.
